Found
We've all found things in random places - an undelivered message, a heart's deepest secret confessed, a random doodle lying on the floor, a shopping list and picked it up to wonder about the people and the story behind it.
Davy Rothbart, when returning to his car one night, found a mistakenly delivered note from an obviously disgruntled woman on his windscreen, with amusing, yet telling contents. Keeping it, he and his friends later discovered that they all had similar items and thus the idea for Found magazine was started. Found collects items that have been lost, dropped, cast aside or simply forgotten in a rush, and gives them a home again. Every item tells a part of a different story, whether they are hilarious or sad, beautiful or aggressive, or just utterly, inexplicably random, and they all offer a glimpse into the life of someone, somewhere.
This book takes the best entries from the magazine and appeals to the curious, nosey side in all of us. Found is a moving, captivating collection that reminds us what being human is all about.
