Over 95% our paper is certified by either FSC, the leading national forest management certification association, or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), which provides the framework for the mutual recognition of different national and regional certifications.
As part of Hachette UK, Octopus is a founding member of PREPS publishers database for responsible Environmental Paper Sourcing) which helps us research the environmental credentials of a very wide variety of types of papers used in our publications. Our standard is to adopt 3-star rating as a minimum and this applies to over 95% of the books we print.
