David Day was born and brought up in Canada. He has published more than twenty books in the fields of poetry, ecology, natural history, fantasy and mythology and a number of award-winning children's books. His writing has also appeared in many magazines and anthologies. His enduring fascination with complex mythologies led him to J.R.R. Tolkien.
Difford's Guide was established in 2001 and is now recognised internationally as the world's cocktail expert. It is the author of an exhaustive cocktails website, and the well-known Difford's Guide Cocktails Encyclopaedia.
Dan Doherty is the Chef Director at London's Duck & Waffle, with a restaurant on the 40th floor of Heron Tower in the City of London and the more informal Duck & Waffle Local in London's West End. He won Tatler's Rising Star Chef award at their 2013 Restaurant Awards and the Guardian declared him 'among the high priests of Britain's culinary revival'.He has appeared on BBC 1's Saturday Kitchen and Channel 4's Sunday Brunch and regularly speaks and demonstrates at festivals and events including Taste London and Meatopia. His second book, Toast Hash Roast Mash, was published in 2016.
Dr Douglas Palmer
Dr Douglas Palmer is a science writer and lecturer. His books include The Neanderthal, which accompanied the acclaimed Channel 4 series, Earth Time, The Atlas of the Prehistoric World and Prehistoric Past Revealed (MB). He is a contributor to a variety of publications including New Scientist, Science and BBC Wildlife Magazine. He is currently working on Evolution for Mitchell Beazley (2009).
Patrick Drake launched HelloFresh in the UK in 2013 from his living room, and from ten bags of shopping it has grown to become the largest service of its kind in the world, delivering 12 million meals each month across 9 countries. Patrick's mission is to teach cookery to those who've never been given the chance to learn, with simple, wholesome and delicious recipes. He stars in a cooking and travel television series that airs in Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia, South America and India.HelloFresh sends its customers weekly recipe boxes containing the ingredients that each recipe requires. By including a questionnaire in every box, HelloFresh has been able to use customer feedback to develop some of the most carefully tested - and delicious - recipes in the world.
Ian Drummond is Creative Director of the Indoor Garden Design Company alongside Pippa Robinson and David Grace. A true north London boy, Ian uses garden and horticultural design to express his understanding of city living. He has worked on art installations for the Barbican Art Gallery and on the Living with Nature Exhibition at St Pancras Station. He has also scooped up an impressive array of medals for design schemes and interior gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Ian's work mainly focuses on creative projects - film premieres, fashion shows and charity functions, including the BAFTAs and the annual Sir Elton John Aids Foundation's White Tie and Tiara Ball. He is also chairman of eFIG (European Federation of Interior Landscape Groups) and an RHS committee member.
One of Ireland's best-loved chefs, Kevin Dundon can usually be found busy at work in the Dunbrody Country House kitchens and cookery school. A chef with a love of locally sourced produce, he has cooked for many well-known celebrities during his career, including Queen Elizabeth II, President Bush and Bono.In 1997, Kevin and his wife founded the Dunbrody Country House Hotel, which has become synonymous with contemporary Irish country house cooking. In 2008, Kevin put his name to MGM Grand's new restaurant venture Raglan Road in downtown Disney, Orlando, and over the past few years has appeared on numerous TV channels in the US, Canada and Ireland. He is the author of Great Family Food, Recipes That Work, Full on Irish and Back to Basics.
Fiona Dunlop is the author of the critically acclaimed New Tapas in which she explored Spain's best tapas bars and, more recently, Medina Kitchen, which featured the best of home cooking in North Africa. For her latest book she has spent many months travelling in Mexico, tasting the food and talking to the locals. She writes regularly for the Financial Times, Sunday Telegraph, Observer and Olive magazine and has written several books, including many travel guides. Fiona lives in London.
