Veronica Ballart Lilja
Veronica Ballart Lilja was born in Stockholm, studied Graphic Design in Barcelona, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. A successful fashion illustrator, she has worked for brands like Zara, Mango, and Harpers Bazaar. Most of her work is in watercolour, which she often uses as a basis for innovative mixed-media work.
JOHN BEARDSWORTH is a photographer and writer with a wealth of experience photographing both digitally and on film. Alex Beeching is a sought-after artist in many fields; whether it's an illustration, a card design, a paper sculpture or indeed a daring installation, he will rise to the occasion. Born in Cheltenham to a Persian father and an English mother, he strives to brings the best of both cultures to his work.Recent clients include: The University of London, The School of Advanced Study, The Bloomsbury Festival, the restaurant chain Zizzi, and Cheltenham Festival.
UK-born SIMON BOND currently lives in South Korea, and has been living and travelling in Asia for the last five years. Recording his experiences through photography with a strikingly graphic style, he is known for his ability to find great photos in seemingly mundane locations, and his work has been published and exhibited in both the UK and in South Korea.
Daniela Bowker, author and curator of this book, is a noted photography journalist and photographer with a keen eye for digital art. She is co-author of Ilex's Photo School: Composition and a featured writer on the popular photography blog Pixiq.com.
Matthew Brehm is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Idaho, where his teaching responsibilities include design studios, graphics courses, and an annual study abroad program in Rome, Italy, that he initiated in 2007. He is the author of Sketching on Location and Drawing Perspective. In 2010, Matthew received the university's Hoffman Award for Excellence in Teaching, and his drawings have been recognized with awards by the Design Communication Association and the American Society of Architectural Illustrators.
Amber Jane Butchart
Amber Butchart is a fashion historian and authority on the history of style. She is an associate lecturer at London College of Fashion, a former research fellow at the University of the Arts London, and hosts a series of regular talks at the V&A Museum, covering topics as diverse as Shakespeare and David Bowie. Amber's work has led to her being featured on numerous television and radio programmes on the BBC, Sky Arts and Channel 4, as well as in a huge number of publications, including Vogue, Grazia, Glamour, the Guardian and The Times. She has spoken at events hosted by prestigious cultural organisations including the British Museum, Tate Britain, Royal Academy of Arts, the Design Museum and the British Film Institute. She is a regular on SHOWstudio fashion week panels. She was Head Buyer and Trend Analyst for cutting-edge international vintage clothing chain Beyond Retro, and has worked with top fashion brands such as Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, applying her historical knowledge to their public campaigns. She is the author of two previous books, Nautical Chic and Amber Jane Butchart's Fashion Miscellany.
