Created by a team of childcare specialists, this book is the essential guide to rearing babies and young toddlers.

Today, paediatric care is the concern of many different specialists, including neonatal physicians, paediatricians, nutritionists, breastfeeding technicians, child behaviourists and psychotherapists. Your Babycare Bible makes all their expertise and more available in a single volume.

Among other special features, it provides a month-by-month guide to how a baby develops, special fold-out basic babycare and first-aid procedure pages, in-depth and up-to-date information on recognising and treating common childhood complaints and coping with emergencies, advice on the activities, toys and attitudes that will develop your baby's abilities and the latest recommendations for feeding, immunising, travelling with and safeguarding your child.

Given that new parents' available time is limited, this book is designed to enable them to readily find out what they need to know and to present the advice in a form that can be quickly, accurately and effectively followed.

How to Eat Better

James Wong
Authors:
James Wong

SELECT a Braeburn apple over a Fuji and get almost double the antioxidants from a fruit that tastes just as sweet.STORE strawberries on the counter, instead of in the fridge, and in just four days they will quadruple their heart-healthy compounds.COOK broccoli with a teaspoon of mustard and send its levels of cancer-fighting potential skyrocketing ten-fold.Between the rush to keep up with the latest miracle ingredient, anxiety about E-numbers and demonization of gluten/dairy/sugar (or the next foodie villain du jour) many of us are left in a virtual panic in the supermarket aisle. Tabloid headlines, 'free-from' labels and judgemental Instagram hashtags hardly help matters - so what should we be buying? How to Eat Better strips away the fad diets, superfood fixations and Instagram hashtags to give you a straight-talking scientist's guide to making everyday foods far healthier (and tastier) simply by changing the way you select, store and cook them. No diets, no obscure ingredients, no damn spiralizer, just real food made better, based on the latest scientific evidence from around the world. With over 80 foolproof recipes to put the theory into practice, James Wong shows you how to make any food a superfood, every time you cook.

A Dad's Guide to Babycare

Colin Cooper
Authors:
Colin Cooper

Conceived both to teach men the best ways to care for their babies and to reflect their masculine approach to childcare, this book is a comprehensive guide on how to manage every aspect of caring for newborns to older toddlers. A further feature is that it offers help in illuminating and helping to resolve contentious issues over care that frequently arise between partners. Designed to be user friendly, with dozens of step by step and other action photos, it is also filled with tips and anecdotes from fathers who share their hard-won expertise with their peers. As childcare is increasingly shared between couples or performed exclusively by men, it seems only right that men should have a guide of their own.

Philip's Moon Map

Dr John Murray
Contributors:
Dr John Murray

Philip's Moon Map is a large-format folded map of the near side of the Moon. It has been specially drawn for Philip's by Dr John Murray, a research lecturer at the Open University, who is an expert on the lunar surface. The map is not only a highly accurate and clear representation of the Moon, but is also a practical guide for lunar observers.More than 500 physical features - craters, seas, mountain ranges, peaks, valleys and rilles (elongated depressions) - are named and indexed, and the landing sites of unmanned and manned spacecraft are also marked. The observer can thus readily identify objects seen through binoculars or a telescope, or select targets for a programme of observation. The chart includes a small map of the far side of the Moon (never visible from the Earth) and is accompanied by a practical guide to lunar observing. This concise and informative text describes the various types of feature to observe, illustrated with drawings and photographs. Tips are given as to the best point in the lunar cycle to observe the most interesting of these features. Guidelines on drawing or photographing the Moon are also included.Colour artworks explain the Moon's orbit, and why its phase (the proportion of the Moon that is visible from Earth) changes during the course of a month. Also explained, with the help of illustrations, are the path of the Moon during the course of the year and why lunar and solar eclipses occur.
