Biographical Notes

Richard Bertinet set up his Bertinet Kitchen in 2005 and Bertinet Bakery in 2011 and his bread is now widely available at farmshops, delis and Waitrose across the south of the UK. He trained as a baker in his native Brittany and has over 20 years' experience as a chef and baker who teaches principally in his own school in Bath. His first two books won numerous awards both in the UK and the US including IACP Cookery Book of the Year and James Beard Award.

Carol Klein

Best-known as co-presenter of BBC TV's "Gardeners' World", Carol Klein is an internationally renowned gardener. Marchester-born Carol moved to Devon in the late 1970s with her two daughters. She started propagating plants because she couldn't afford to buy the ones she wanted for her own garden. Friends suggested she sell the spares, so Carol opened a stall in the local market, and eventually she opened her own nursery which is now a thriving business. Carol has designed four commercial show gardens at Chelsea, won five Cheslsea gold medals. Dan Docherty

Dan Docherty is an international Tai Chi and Qijong consultant who has taught, and continues to teach, thousands of students at seminars throughout the world. Since 1989, Dan has been the organiser of the British Open Tai Chi Championships. He is Chairman of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. He regularly contributes to martial arts publications and is the author of the recently published Tai Chi Bible (Godsfield, Feb 2014), Tai Chi Chuan and Complete Tai Chi Chuan. Dan learned Tai Chi Chuan while serving as an Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force between 1975 and 1984. In 1980 he won the Open Weight Division at the fifth South-east Asian Chinese Pugilistic Championships in Malaysia. He is an LLB graduate from Glasgow University and holds a postgraduate CNAA diploma in Chinese. He regularly travels to the Far East, especially to China, for research.
