If you love cats and are addicted to Twitter then this is the perfect book for you. With over 50 kitties sharing love (fish), life (sleep, wash, eat) and other meaningful stuff, it is a humorous page turner that you won't be able to put down.

Nowhere is it more apparent that the cat reigns supreme than on Twitter.

Having got over the initial disappointment in finding Twitter was nothing to do with budgies, cats have finally taken to tweeting. In the wrong paws the smart phone has been turned into an antisocial network by the dominant feline race. Enjoy their greatest tweets as they point out the failures of other species, the pitfalls of house sharing with humans and other idiots, and where to stick your hashtag.

Biographical Notes

Trevor Davies has spent many years trying to teach his cat Frazzle to text... he's pretty sure she can, but thinks she simply can't be bothered.

When not playing with Frazzle, for the past 15 years Trevor has been the editor of some of the most successful pet books in the UK and has turned his hand to penning a few, including Kittens for When Sh*t Happens (also available in puppy flavour) and The Little Book of Corgi Charm. Aside from Frazzle he lives with his wife (who is equally dismissive of him) in Kent.

Shelfie

Martha Roberts
Authors:
Martha Roberts

A decorating trend and social media phenomenon, 'the shelfie' originally emerged in response to the clutter-clearing movement. What started as a label for beautiful bookshelves is now applied to artfully stylish arrangements of collectables, flowers, photos, crafting ephemera, perfume bottles - and of course books. And shelfies don't just appear on shelves, but also on desks, worktops and fireplaces.De-cluttering, and then curating our favourite possessions stylishly, is a great way to bring personality into the home and workspace. In the first book on the shelfie, Martha Roberts shows you how to source, sort and arrange your belongings for every room in the house. Photography by Nick Pope, who took the photographs for At Home with Plants, also published by Mitchell Beazley.'While most of us are just beginning to get to grips with the selfie, the 'shelfie' movement has been gaining digital ground. The self-obsessed are becoming the 'shelf-obsessed.' - Talib Choudry, the Telegraph

Giuseppe Mascoli, Bridget Hugo
Authors:
Giuseppe Mascoli, Bridget Hugo

Every critic, blogger and Londoner has sung the praises of Franco Manca, whose pizzas are 'the best in Britain' (Observer). The owner, Giuseppe Mascoli, knows that the best pizza in Italy comes from Naples and therefore, as an expat Neopolitan himself, he has gone back to its roots, where making pizza is all about simple things (bread, tomato, cheese) and simple steps (make the dough, let it rise, flatten it, add topping, bake in the oven), all using the best ingredients to produce pizza of exceptional quality. Aimed at the home cook who doesn't have a traditional woodburning oven, Giuseppe has tailored his recipes so you can use a pizza stone or a heavy baking tray and still get great results. His famous, slow-rising sourdough recipe produces a soft and easily digestible crust, there are 50-60 recipes with seasonal variations, plus chapters on fritti (fried starters) and salads and also tips and techniques for making your own flavoured oils, preserving your tomatoes and curing your meat. Without a doubt, this is the closest you'll come to the real deal in your home kitchen, and in your personal quest for perfect pizza.

30 Years at Ballymaloe: A celebration of the world-renowned cookery school with over 100 new recipes

Darina Allen
Authors:
Darina Allen

When Ballymaloe's doors opened to students in 1983 there were 15 courses available. Now there are over 100, reflected in the recipes collected here, including curing meat, making gluten-free meals and sushi as well as learning forgotten skills like producing butter and cheese and beekeeping. The book chronicles how the school has been at the forefront of cooking and food trends since its inception, from Darina's championing of the Slow Food movement and her highlighting the importance of using local, seasonal and fresh produce to installing a wood-burning oven and expanding its gardens so students can learn the importance of eating less meat and more veg and preserving heirloom varieties of produce. A fascinating insight into Ballymaloe, this is also a history of food over the past thirty years, from a time when Darina couldn't get anything other than pre-packaged, grated Parmesan cheese to one where a local producer makes his own mozzarella.
