Abi Daker

ABI DAKER is a British illustrator who lives and works in Cyprus with her husband and son. She studied Art at the University of Reading and has since worked on children's books and as an archaeological illustrator; she also specialises in illustrated maps and architectural subjects. Cynthia Emerlye was born in Rhode Island, USA. Growing up in a creative family, she was introduced to homey and fine crafts at a young age. Her work is detailed and elegant, convoluted and richly feminine in nature, recalling the lush illuminated manuscripts of the Renaissance and the detail of William Morris. Her floral designs are highly distinctive and have been adapted to many decorative and commercial uses. IAIN R. WEBB is an award-winning writer and Professor of Design at Kingston University. During his career he has been fashion editor of BLITZ, the Evening Standard, Harpers & Queen, The Times and Elle, while contributing to various publications including NME, The New York Times and Vogue. He is the author and illustrator of the bestselling Vogue Colouring Book, and has written several other books including Bill Gibb: Fashion and Fantasy, Postcards from the Edge of the Catwalk, As Seen in BLITZ: Fashioning '80s Style, Invitation Strictly Personal and Foale and Tuffin: The Sixties. Jane Snedden Peever

Jane's natural talent for creating patterns has led her to teaching classes in mandala-making in her native Canada. She also creates her unique hand-drawn mandalas for colouring books and online publications. Her previously published work encompasses her other great skill in fiber arts, including books of her unique designs for Aran sweaters.

Stephen Bayley

Stephen Bayley is one of the world's best known commentators on modern culture. In 1989 he was made a Chevalier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France's top artistic honour, by the French Minister of Culture. Stephen Bayley has been a design consultant working on imaginative communications projects for Ford, Jaguar, Fiat, Audi and BMW amongst others, and wrote the creative strategy for Mercedes-Benz' advertisments. He has written extensively for Car magazine. Stephen was awarded PPA Columnist of the Year for his car column in GQ (which ran for about eight years) and he wrote very popular regular car columns for the Daily Telegraph and Management Today. He is also well-known as an outspoken commentator on art and design and has contributed to the Times, the Daily Mail, the Observer, the Evening Standard, the Guardian, the Spectator, the Los Angeles Times, High Life, New Statesman, the Independent, and the Independent on Sunday as well as many trade and professional publications.

Terence Conran

Terence Conran is one of the world's best-known designers, restaurateurs and retailers. In the 1960s he founded Habitat - the chain of homeware stores that brought good, modern design within reach of the general population for the very first time.Over the subsequent 50 years Terence built another group of companies centred around design, retailing, restaurants and hotels. Today, Conran owns restaurants and shops in eight cities throughout the world and a design business serving many international clients that includes architecture and interior design, product and graphic design and brand licensing.In January 2011 Conran began working with Marks & Spencer in the UK, designing an exclusive range of homewares for the store. In 2012 Conran signed a deal to collaborate with US retail giant jcpenney to design an exclusive range of furniture, lighting and accessories for the home. The initial collection launched in spring 2013 into 300 jcpenney stores throughout the US and there will be new ranges launching each spring and autumn.Terence was knighted for his services to design in 1983 and has been provost of the Royal College of Art in London. In 1982 he opened the very first museum in the world dedicated to design, which is now the celebrated Design Museum in London, due to move to new premises in 2015 thanks to a massive expansion programme.
