Alan Herdman

Alan Herdman is a world-renowned Pilates expert. He has established Pilates exercise studios in several countries, including opening the first Pilates studio in London in 1970. Three of his books, Pilates: Creating the Body You Want, The Busy Person's Guide to Pilates and Pilates Plus are published by Gaia Books.

Alex Comfort

Dr Alex Comfort, M.B., D.Sc., was a leading expert on human sexuality and one of the most versatile authors of the 20th century. A pioneer in the study of old age, co-founder of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, anarchist, social commentator, novelist, and poet, he wrote over 50 books and countless scientific papers. Dr Comfort also worked as head of research on gerontology at University College London, a lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University, and Adjunct Professor at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles. A member of the Royal Society of Medicine and an Associate Member of the American Psychiatric Association, he died in March 2000, aged 80.

Blanche Vaughan

Blanche Vaughan is a food writer and chef who worked at the River Cafe, Moro and St John. She has written for the Guardian and published four books with Weidenfeld & Nicolson including One Pot and Egg. She wrote itsu: the cookbook with Julian Metcalfe. Blanche is Food Editor at House & Garden.

Christie Goodwin

Christie Goodwin is a British photographer with a career that spans over 35 years. She has worked for Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and other top recording artists. Christie's work appears on CDs, DVDs and tour merchandise, and in international publications, books and exhibitions. Clodagh Mckenna

Clodagh McKenna is a chef, restaurateur and broadcaster who studied in France and New York and trained and worked at Ballymaloe. Cyrus Todiwala

Cyrus Todiwala OBE, DL, was born in Bombay and rose to become Executive Chef of the Taj Group of hotels in India. Looking for a new challenge, he moved to Britain, where he has lived for more than twenty years. As well as running three successful restaurants in London, he has written a number of cookery books and in 2013 co-presented The Incredible Spice Men on BBC TV. He also makes frequent appearances on BBC Saturday Kitchen and in other media.

Dan Docherty

Dan Docherty is an international Tai Chi and Qijong consultant who has taught, and continues to teach, thousands of students at seminars throughout the world. Since 1989, Dan has been the organiser of the British Open Tai Chi Championships. He is Chairman of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. He regularly contributes to martial arts publications and is the author of the recently published Tai Chi Bible (Godsfield, Feb 2014), Tai Chi Chuan and Complete Tai Chi Chuan. Dan learned Tai Chi Chuan while serving as an Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force between 1975 and 1984. In 1980 he won the Open Weight Division at the fifth South-east Asian Chinese Pugilistic Championships in Malaysia. He is an LLB graduate from Glasgow University and holds a postgraduate CNAA diploma in Chinese. He regularly travels to the Far East, especially to China, for research.

Dr Bruce Fogle DVM MRCV is the world's best-selling practising vet, and is internationally renowned for his expertise in animal health and behaviour. Gwen Bailey

Gwen Bailey was the Head of Animal Behaviour for The Blue Cross, one of Britain's foremost animal welfare charities, for many years and also spent 15 years as Chairman of The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. As well as lecturing at national and international conferences, Gwen also runs training courses for staff at animal charities around the world and is the owner of The Puppy School, establishing a network of professional, well-trained tutors across the UK. Heather Couper

Heather Couper is a past President of both the British Astronomical Association and the Society for Popular Astronomy. She is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and the Institute of Physics, and a former Millennium Commissioner, for which she was awarded the CBE in 2007.
