Biographical Notes

Richard Croasdale is an award-winning journalist, editor-in-chief of Ferment craft beer magazine, and an all-round lover of anything cold and hoppy. A member of the Guild of Beer Writers, Richard has travelled the world in search of the best beers and brewers, experiencing the diversity of approaches and cultures that make craft beer so exciting. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, and can usually be found evangelising in the city's many excellent beer and whisky bars.

Adrian Tierney-Jones

Adrian Tierney-Jones is a freelance journalist whose work appears in BrewersGuardian, The Daily Telegraph, Class, The Morning Advertiser, The Field and Beers of the Worldamongst others.He has written several books on the subject:West Country Ales, Pubsfor Families and The Big Book of Beer, and is the editor of the Society of IndependentBrewers South West's Brewers Herald. Tierney-Jones is an expert taster and talkeron the world of beer, and also writes about cider.He was the silver award winner inthe British Guild of Beer Writer's Award for National Journalism in 2006 andawarded the Guild's Budweiser Budvar John White Travel Bursary in 2007.

Andy Tuohy

Andy Tuohy is a graphic designer and worked in advertising for many years before becoming a freelance artist/ designer. He has had design work commissioned by the Tate Modern and Tate Liverpool, Turner Contemporary and Henley Regatta, and has been featured in Design Week amongst other publications.

Chris Gatcum

Dan Docherty

Dan Docherty is an international Tai Chi and Qijong consultant who has taught, and continues to teach, thousands of students at seminars throughout the world. Since 1989, Dan has been the organiser of the British Open Tai Chi Championships. He is Chairman of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. He regularly contributes to martial arts publications and is the author of the recently published Tai Chi Bible (Godsfield, Feb 2014), Tai Chi Chuan and Complete Tai Chi Chuan. Dan learned Tai Chi Chuan while serving as an Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force between 1975 and 1984. In 1980 he won the Open Weight Division at the fifth South-east Asian Chinese Pugilistic Championships in Malaysia. He is an LLB graduate from Glasgow University and holds a postgraduate CNAA diploma in Chinese. He regularly travels to the Far East, especially to China, for research.

Dr Bruce Fogle

Dr Bruce Fogle DVM MRCV is the world's best-selling practising vet, and is internationally renowned for his expertise in animal health and behaviour. After graduating from Ontario Veterinary College in Canada, he pursued post-graduate training at London Zoo before establishing a highly respected veterinary practice in west London. Dr Fogle lectures worldwide, broadcasts frequently on radio and television, and contributes to national magazines and newspapers. He is the author of numerous best-selling titles on dog care, behaviour, physiology and history including the RSPCA Complete Dog Training Manual, the New Encyclopedia of the Dog, and New Dog.

Robert A Emmons, PhD is Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Davis, where he has taught since 1988.He received his PhD degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the author of nearly 200 original publications in peer-reviewed journals or chapters and has written or edited five books, including The Psychology of Ultimate Concerns (Guilford Press), The Psychology of Gratitude (Oxford University Press), Thanks! His research focuses on the psychology of gratitude and thankfulness in both adults and youth, and how they are related to human flourishing.
