Biographical Notes

Dr Patrizia Collard is a psychotherapist, mindfulness teacher, stress management consultant and lecturer in psychotherapy at the University of East London. Her books include Journey into Mindfulness, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies and Awakening the Compassionate Mind (2014).

Dr Collard's wide range of approaches and methodologies includes mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy, rational emotive behaviour therapy, core energy management, existential therapy, drama therapy, yoga and meditation, relaxation, and self-hypnosis.

Dr Collard lives in South London.

Andy Gibson

Andrew Gibson is the founder and Head Gardener of Mindapples. He founded the campaign in 2008 in response to the lack of attention being given by social innovators and campaigners to public mental health. He went on to be head chef for Ruth Rogers & Rose Gray at the River Café, the Soho House Group at Cecconi's, Jamie Oliver at Fifteen and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage HQ. He founded London eco-restaurants Acorn House and Water House for the Shoreditch Trust, and the annual Mrs Paisley's Lashings pop-ups with Jo Wood.Arthur has appeared on the BBC's Market Kitchen on numerous occasions, had his own show in C4's latest Food Fight season alongside Gordon, Jamie,Hugh and Heston, and was featured on C4's The People's Supermarket documentary this Spring. Arthur lives in London and Somerset with his partner and two children, and he's working on his next restaurant.

Bev Speight

Bev Speight is an artist, illustrator, designer and educator who teaches at Middlesex University. She was previously creative director for a major book publisher and, amongst many other clients, has worked extensively on high profile campaigns for the BBC.

Bob Purnell

Bob Purnell is a writer, broadcaster, lecturer and award-winning garden designer who also runs a small nursery that specializes in container plants. He writes for numerous gardening publications including BBC Gardeners World.

Caroline Taggart

Caroline Taggart was born in London of Scottish parents, spent most of her childhood in New Zealand and went to university in Sheffield. Confused for some time, she now thinks of herself as a Londoner, but continues to change allegiance whenever it suits her, particularly during the rugby season. Having worked in publishing for 11 years, she gave up a perfectly respectable job to become a freelance editor in 1989. Since then she has worked bizarre hours, gone out to lunch a lot and indulged her lifelong dislike of getting up in the morning.
