Top 5: Kay Plunkett-Hogge’s tips to throwing the perfect cocktail party

Kate Whitaker
  1. Don’t try to take on too much. You’ll be stressed and harassed and won’t have a good time. No one likes a frazzled host. It’s a party folks!
  1. Remember to HOST. It’s no good if you are stuck in the kitchen the whole time. Please, please enjoy yourself.
  2. Don’t worry about making everything yourself. Store bought mixed in with some home made goodies is fine. Really. Your friends are here to see YOU and have a good time.
  1. A good selection of tasty food. I am a fan of the larger canapé – not itty bitty pinkie sized things. And lots of flavour.
  1. Always know where you can get more ice if you need it!
