Chinese Cosmopolitan: Cheers to Chinese New Year from Difford’s

Photographer: Dan Malpass

The Chinese New Year is thousands of years old, and its date is dictated by lunar movements. There are 12 different animals that represent the different years. Traditional celebrations include family gatherings, exchanging money in red paper envelopes, and
fireworks. One of the best celebrations so far must have been the dancing dragon on 19 February 2000, which was about 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) long, and was brought to life by 3,200 people on the Great Wall of China. A big part of the Chinese New Year is about wiping out all grudges and wishing peace and happiness to everybody. So what better
way to do it than mixing a Chinese Cosmopolitan for your friends and family to celebrate with tonight?

Ingredients
2 shots spiced honey liqueur
¾ shot lychee liqueur
½ shot lime juice
1 shot red cranberry juice

Method
Shake ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. Garnish with orange zest twist.
