Editor’s Choice: Frenchie Covent Garden

istock

Gregory Marchand, or ‘Frenchie’ as Jamie Oliver called him when he headed the Fifteen kitchen in Shoreditch, has taken his much-celebrated Parisian bistro and returned to London to make his mark. Frenchie, Covent Garden, opened in February in all its white-walled and copper-accented chic glory to rave reviews.

We’d recommend going for lunch. Their fixed menu (£22/28 for two/three courses) is an absolute steal considering the quality of the food and its fantastic location. From the roasted carrots, vadouvan, barley & medjool date starter through to the chocolate tart with Maldon sea salt and bacon (yes, bacon) ice cream, this place is a haven of feel-good flavours. Word has spread fast, so getting a table may take perseverance but believe us, it’s worth it.
