Top 5: Fish and Chips

1. Simpsons Fish and Chips has been in the family for 40 years and believes in no nonsense natural ingredients.  Their Cheltenham shop opened in 2009, so if you’re heading to the literature festival later this year, be sure to drop by!

2. Hikary’s fish bar in South Wales prepares food on site from locally sourced produce.  This family run business pride themselves on their high standards and the prices start at £1.50, so there’s no excuse.

3. Cromars in Fife boast a head chef with over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, locally sourced Scottish ingredients and the beautiful backdrop of St. Andrews.

4.  Papa’s Barn, is perfect for anyone visiting Kent for the weekend.  Situated in Ditton, they use Maris Piper Potatoes and fish bought daily from trawlers off Peterhead and Billingsgate Market.

5. Although not featured in the awards this year, if you’re in London this weekend, we recommend trying Poppy’s Fish & Chips in Camden.  With it’s retro interior, it’s a great lunch stop between lazy drinks on Camden Lock.
