Murder on the Dance Floor Cocktail

well it was only a matter of time! blood red and made with our own bottle (yep, that’s Sophie on the label) of colour-changing gin, this is a relatively new cocktail but we’ve now made it a permanent part of the cocktail board.

Serves 2

lots of ice

100ml (3.fl oz) good-quality gin (we use Pin Marmalade gin)

juice of 1/2 lemon or lime

100ml (3 1/2 fl oz) cranberry juice

1 teaspoon agave syrup (depending on the sweetness of your cranberry juice, you may need a little extra)

2 lavender sprigs, to serve (optional)

Fill a couple of martini glasses with ice and leave to chill.

Add plenty of ice to your cocktail shaker and throw in all your ingredients with panache! Pop the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 20 seconds – give it your all!

Throw out the ice from your now icy-cold glasses and pour your cocktail evenly into them. Top each with a lavender sprig, if you like, and drink immediately.

This recipe is from Love. Food. Family by Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Richard Jones.
